Put First Things First
(PRIORITIZE)!
What Is and Is Not Prioritizing?
When you prioritize, you choose which to do the activity with the highest priority first. This means that you do not procrastinate. If you have a project due next week, then you should not wait till the day before to start on it. Don’t be a procrastinator and put things off till the last minute. Another example of what prioritizing is not is saying yes to everything. Sometimes things are just not that important to you. Little things like unimportant phone calls, small problems of others, and minor interruptions can simply be avoided and used for more important things that YOU consider important.

Everything that comes next are under medium, and everything that dose not really have to be done or are not as urgent as the others under low. | How Do Know Which To Choose? Have a planner! When you lay everything out on a planner and have the due dates in front of you, you would be able to choose which you should do first. You could also use a planner to help you remember the promises you made to your friends, family, and loved ones. It would also help prevent you from overlapping two or more activities. This would keep you from tiring yourself out, and you could use your free time to do habit 7 and renew yourself.

Example of Prioritizing You have a test you have to study for tonight but you just got invited to a party. Which would you choose to do? A person that prioritizes would choose to study for the test because the test is more important than the party. They would also choose the test because they know that they will always have another chance to go to another party, but only one shot to ace the test. | ![]() In this picture, there is a man holding up a clock. This tells us that prioritizing is all about time management. If you manage your time wisely, and plan everything correctly, then there would be no need for hurrying to finish a project due the next day. |
